Supporting Ropes Crossing Community Centre
The Ropes Crossing Community Hub recently turned 10 and to celebrate they threw quite the community bonanza. The birthday event was a huge success with an estimated 700 – 1000 people in attendance over just 4 hours offering one of the first opportunities for the locals to come together following a year of isolation and challenge for many of us.
As a family owned and operated business for over a decade, Online Hire continues to be endlessly grateful for our local community and the support that they continue to show us. Thus, we are always looking for ways to give back and be involved at a grassroots level.
Murray and the team were delighted to be able to offer our high pressure cleaning equipment to help the Community Hub team prepare the recently renovated centre for the big occasion.
The Ropes Crossing Community Hub was rapt to offer one of the first opportunities for local families to come together and connect following a challenging year of restricted interaction leading to isolation and loneliness among far too many.
This celebration played host to more than 20 wonderful exhibitors form the local community, the SES and the National Parks and Wildlife service. The team from the Kings Langley lions club also kept bellies full with a huge BBQ contributing all proceeds to local flood victims.
Tony Bleasdael, Mayor of Blacktown and Local Member, Prue Carr were both on site to celebrate and joined in by cutting the birthday cake and it will come as no surprise that the face painting was a hit. The children practiced patience as they waited in a lengthy queue for their turn with the much adored artists before turning their attention to the wonderful community farm on site.
Moving forward, it is the goal of the Ropes Crossing Community Hub to deliver free events on a regular basis in order to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation among the community members. Taking advantage of the brand new AV, sound equipment, projectors and PA, the venue will soon commence movie mornings and melody mornings.
